Now Enrolling. Mandarin Chinese Immersion Program for Preschoolers (ages 3-5). 3-days and 5-days a week programs, from 9:30 am - 2 pm. Small classes, native language teachers. We keep the classes fun and the children engaged. Children will learn Chinese culture and language arts, simple mathematics, arts and crafts, singing and dancing, group games, story telling and listening skills all in Mandarin Chinese. (Children must be potty trained.) HOURS: 9:30 am - 2 pm (full day), 9:30 am - noon (half day for 3 years old) Tuition: depends on days per week, but includes $100 registration and materials fee (materials for one year). Early registration is strongly encouraged. Classes are filled on a first-register basis. This is a year-round program. We ask for 3 month minimum commitment. Contact us for more information. September 15 - December 8, 2007 (Saturdays) from 10:30 am - 12 noon, Chinese for Children ages 6-12 (Beginners). [No class November 24, Thanksgiving weekend.] In this 12-week class, children learn Mandarin through fun and games, songs, stories... Teachers are native speakers of Chinese. Children new to Chinese will learn fundamentals of listening and speaking and correct pronunciation. Some characters will be taught, as well as pinyin/bopomofo transliteration system. [No class November 24, Thanksgiving weekend.] In this 12-week class, children continue to build on what they have learned in previous classes. A textbook is required for this class. Children continue to practice listening and speaking, and also reading, character recognition/memorization and writing. Pinyin and some bopomofu transliteration also used.
