January 13 - March 31, 2007 (Saturdays) from 10:30 am - 12 noon, Mandarin Chinese for Preschoolers (Mixed Levels), Ages 3-5. This 12-week class -- taught by a native speaker of Chinese -- includes learning Chinese songs, playing Chinese games, speaking and listening, and learning to read and write in pinyin (the phonetic alphabet used predominantly in Mainland China) and some character study. Our philosophy for teaching children is to keep the classes fun and the children engaged, to foster an environment where children learn Mandarin in much the same way that they learn their native tongue. If the children actually *want* to come to class they will learn better. Classes are kept small. We fill seats on a first-register basis. Place: Bodhi Tree Language Center. 5403 SE Center Street, Portland, OR 97206. For more information, call (503) 788-0336 or send email.
